Kayaking!

Monday the 22nd of September

Woke up at the Holiday and went outside to meet Jennifer enjoying the sun. I sat between her and talked until she brought up the subject about "Breakie" (Breakfast), I rushed Into the kitchen shovelled in the porridge (Havregrød for my danes) and took a slice of toast with me. Then I began reading "Duma Key", a book, which I have started more than 3 times, but never got to finish. But it was still so damn good that I just had the feeling to finish it. Prior I have told you about how I got these long train rides, and this is what I have done most of the times, I have been reading.

Anyways, somehow I got disturbed out of my reading focus and noticed Jen and Ian pulling out the huge Kayaks, I mean, these were not just your everyday Kayak, these were fitted with storage rooms, Paddles and Paddling gears for your feet (Like a bike, when you turn it around you get forward, the inventer got the idea by looking at penguins swimming) and place for sail. So these were not your everyday Kayaks, these were profs.

We got them ready and then Jen and I had a lovely Paddling tour to the end of the river. There were the occasional jumping In the water from fish, and there were all lots of other birds and a great scenery, it was also quite a lot of fun with paddling through, with your feet.

We also had to get through this point with all these rocks, as a first timer Kayaker I was very nervous of scratching these beauties, but it went surprisingly well (I think, Jen may say otherwise!)
Slow, but steady.

At a point we got through the rocks and we had to park the Kayak, She parked hers to something on the mainland, while I parked mine to hers. I'll bet this must have been looking funny for the couple sitting a few meters away from when they noticed this Danish boy trying to maneuver from one kayak to the other.

We went ahead and saw a Lizard and a good size even (For a Danish, small for them!)
There were also a few larger fish and quite a lot bigger ones.
As we walked with the river we heard a waterfall in the distance and decided to go that way, as we heard right, there was a waterfall.
Now, I took my T-shirt of and walked through the water, and Jen took the longer, but safer way at the shore. We walked up the waterfalls (My case, climbed up a old trunk) and noticed a few holes in the ground (Below water) I surely wondered how deep they were, and apparantley I leaned a bit too much forward and fell in. It was deep enough to be above my thighs, which was deeper than the rest that was shin deep. There were a few more, and I got a few pictures while I was in one.

It was freezing by the way.

Anyways, we went back to our kayaks and began our journey through the rocks once more.
And yes, we did survive.

At the end of our journey, just before we would go on land, I decided it would be a good to try jump of some rocks (Fisherman rocks as they are called) and swing at the swing. However I figured it was to dangerous to use the swing since beneath it said "DO NOT USE! Submersive rocks" and sure enough there was rocks under the water, and they did look spiky, I still jumped of the rock through.

It was good fun.

Now we just had to get home and clean the kayaks.

Also got to finish Duma Key, surprisingly good, totally worth it!

I got the feeling that it was deeper than expected
