Welcoming meeting! Saturday the 2nd of August.
We had to get up at 6 am to go to a RYE (Rotary youth exchange) meeting. It was the first time this years rotary students were all gathered at the same point. It was a bunch of welcomes and some information about our stay. I was rather glad that we finally got some information and it was also great to meet the Danes there are in the same district. We also got a bunch of information about our trip around Australia, and over all quite good.
When it was over we headed back to the real house and relaxed, it was a tough day. The meeting took several hours and it was quite a bit of information and combining with the tiredness you get from getting up at 6 am, I was quite exhausted.
Markets Sunday the 3rd of August.
We had no plans for this day, but it changed however when Jennifer got a call from Rotary about if she could help them at Leura markets. Rotary a has a Australian Fastfood wagon at the markets whenever they are open and today they were overwhelmed and asked for help. However that when we came they were sold out. They were packing their stuff and got ready to leave. This meant of course to that we could not help, but once we were at the. We could might as well take a look. I found a book stand and bought Stephen Kings "The Stand". It is in quite a bad condition but it was 2 dollars so I figured it was worth the read. Jennifer also got a few things and then we headed back home and got ready to visit some of their friends in the evening.
It was nice to go see them, they were all Rotarians and seemed engaged. I also got offered to go to Hawaii if I could lift all of the shoes one of the friends brought with her. However, I do not think I will ever go to Hawaii. :-)
