A little Dinghy
Thursday 31st.
I got to sleep in today, and getting rid of the last jet lag. Which was veeeery nice.
We had baked beans on toast for breakfast, which I can honestly say is not my favorite food, but I did not dislike it. After breakfast I went with Ian out in the Dinghy garage (for non-Aussies' it's a boat!) and helped him getting it out and hinge it to the car. Then we went on to the nearby Creek. We got the dinghy in water and I got to say "Hello, mate" to the nearby pelicans. We went for a nice little sail and got to see some quite funny areas and some new animals. Some fish and a eagle was included. However I did not dare to sail it, even though I got the option.
When we got up we wondered if we felt for a "Golden Gaytime" or a "Magnum' Honeycomb"
We went with the Magnum.
We went home got lunch ( great burgers ), and went for a hike. Mostly bush and a bit rough. At some point we just walked and out of the corner of my eye I saw something, I looked, it was a Kangaroo, not very far from us. I said something that had a resemblance of kangaroo, and Iam and Jennifer whom was in front of me turned around and said "what". I said the word again and Ian understood me, but Jennifer did not, and there was a little surprise when they saw the kangaroo standing not far from them. What a great camouflage!
We went on and got to the beach, it was unusual low tide and we could walk quite far out in the fossilized reef?, it was not difficult seeing the small seashells and plants there had been there long ago. We went out on the fossilized reef and there were smaller and large pools of water which had been sort of stranded in the reef. It was like looking down in an aquarium. With beautiful plants, starfish and a single one with smaller fish.
Because the tide was low so we could go quite long out. I went furthest out and looked at what that seemed like a huge seashell that was covered in algae, it wasn't. When I tried picking it up, it shot water at me. So pulled my hand a bit back and tried to touch from the side and it shot water after me once more. I was trying to press it once more, but the tide came back in very quickly and I had to run for a little time so I wouldn't get wet. I didn't get get wet, However it must have been amusing to look at me jumping.
I returned to Jennifer and she told me it was a "Wisser", a sponge, and we saw a fee more before we left. On the way home we saw two kangaroos standing on the side of the road, mowing the lawns (Kangaroos eats grass) and I actually got to pet a young wild male kangaroo.
By the way, Kangaroos makes great lawn mowers. But you better hope they do the pooping on your neighbors lawn. For I can tell you, those kangaroos know how to poop...
